Victorian this; Victorian that

With missionary zeal
Strides hubris armed
Self-righteous alms and platitudes
Top hats and hoops and whale-bone traps
Brings back
The straps of custom-costumed attitude
Strait laced
Stiff upper
Done up like a kipper
Know your place
And wish
Deserving rests within the gift
Of father’s laundered godliness.

    • šŸ™‚ And before even the Georges, being that society is a continuum and that one thing leads to another, there being few definitive lines in History. Too, I prefer to use the same cultural references of the general public and the framing language that the mainstream politicos use to position their audiences. It holds more power to use their own words and concepts against them, I find.
