on whim of war and jaw

When your preaching is an overworked device
And your economic weapons don’t suffice
But you’re arrogant enough to not think twice:
Derive to score from what is cleft
And hedge your bets with armoured threats;
Put war and jaw in straw man’s moar;
And double down on debt-fuelled vice;
Allege you’re being careful what you wish for,
Then, just casually roll the paring dice.
